It's Up To You!

Well, here we go again. The script is written and all that is left is to act out the show.
The United States Congress is once again about to abdicate our responsibility and hand over a blank check to the President of the United States without any oversight or accountability.
This was supposed to be TARP (the Troubled Asset Relief Program), but today, I’m officially renaming it S.O.A.P. - spend on anything program.
There may be a lot of talk about change coming to DC, but so far we have yet to see anything but empty words and broken promises.
Despite all of the complaints and outrage over the way the first $350 billion was spent, Congress is going to do the same thing all over again.
As you know, we were starting to make progress to halt this from happening again. Many of my colleagues - both Democrat and Republican joined my bill to freeze the bailout- but our efforts were undercut.
So, the fact is, with just hours to go until the vote on the resolution of disapproval - Obama-Reid-Pelosi have said they have the votes. Unfortunately, we can’t hold them accountable.
So now, with little time left before Congress votes, I am asking you to make one last ditch attempt and call your elected official and let them hear from you, especially those who voted for the 700 billion dollar bailout. We may be fighting a losing cause, but its one worth fighting for.
