The Oklahoman picked up on Senator Inhofe's blog post, INHOFE: CONGRESS TO BLAME, TOO from December 22, 2008:

What's in a half?

Quite a bit if you're talking about the federal government's $700 billion financial bailout plan. On his Web site U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, urged his peers to freeze $350 billion that hasn't been spent yet. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson "turned out to be one of the most convincing salesmen in history," Inhofe said. He "promised he would use it to buy damaged assets ... but he didn't. Instead, he gave it to his Wall Street banking buddies, and one of the banks Paulson had interest in." The senator said he's not happy with President George W. Bush for giving some of the money to the auto industry. "But let's be clear - Congress is as much to blame as the president. Congress gave him the money, no strings attached." Can they get a do-over?
